Bug Description

Binary package hint: gaim

I logged in to Ubuntu with gaim opening automatically, it opened and it connected to freenode. Then it crashed.

I've attached the reduced size bug report, if you want the big one just holler.

Thank you for your bug. That's a crash to gstreamer, reassigning to gstreamer0.10 package

Just for future reference, how did you find out that was gstreamer?

I'm trying to get into triaging bugs as best I can, so any hints would be welcome. :)

From the crash file:

Program terminated with signal 11, Segmentation fault.
 #0 0xb7ee05d0 in _gst_parse_yylex () from /usr/lib/libgstreamer-0.10.so.0

that library is shipped by the gstreamer0.10 package

Okay, that makes sense. Is that how you'd usually tell what package caused it?

for a crash the backtrace describe the functions called before the crash, it usually points to the faulty code and the bugged package
