Bug Description

Binary package hint: banshee

I don't know if it is a problem specific to my installation. Banshee was working fine till last week. But now it keeps crashing without any error messages.

For example I have started Banshee in the background, it will play songs in the queue for next 30 minutes or so and then the playback suddenly stops and I notice that Banshee is no longer running. I need to restart it.

And sometimes it so happens that window of Banshee stops responding.

I don't know how to reproduce it.

Could you perhaps upload your ~/.config/banshee-1/log file? It might reveal the
cause of the crash.

Nah, that stack trace is harmless. Are you sure Banshee has crashed at that
point? Could you launch Banshee with "banshee --debug --redirect-log" instead?

I had to wait for it to crash for the next time. Now the log should be helpful

Have you tried to disabled gapless in your banshee settings and then check if this issue persists?

I did disable gapless playback after your suggestion and it didn't crash since then, but just now another crash occurred. Frequency reduced for sure, but I am not sure if it was related to gapless playback. Also this time I wasn't playing it in debug mode, so no logs :/

Still no fix? Last.fm keeps crashing on me. It will play for a little while, sometimes I get a message to download a new plugin, but either way banshee just shuts off.
