Unable to deactivate synaptic touch-pad in Kubuntu 11.04, which makes my Gateway M6881 virtually unuseable due to the touchpad being broken with left key stck in on position.

Bug Description
Tried in "System Manager" without any success. No option available to de-activate synaptics touch-pad and use my USB optical mouse instead, so curser becomes wild and uncontrollable.
