Since you think this has to do with video card acceleration, please attach the output of lspci -vvnn

Never mind, it looks as if you have a SiS video card. The SiS driver has not received much work for a while now and it seems unlikely that it ever will. You could try filing a bug upstream at https://bugs.freedesktop.org/ and attach your XorgLog.txt and GstreamerVersions.txt there, but your best bet would be to add a discrete video card to your system (or replace the existing SiS discrete video card). Even if you have an AGP system you should still be able to pick up an AGP card such as an ATI Radeon HD4650.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running apport-collect <bug #> and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.
