Bug Description

Binary package hint: evolution

Emails that have non-zero size, such as those containing attachments, are listed as have 0 bytes in the Sent box. Clicking on the emails confirms that they are non-zero, since they are readable. Not all emails in the Sent box are listed as of 0 bytes.

See attached screenshot.

I am running Evolution 2.32.1 under Maverick on amd64.

Thanks for the report, is that reproducible? are you using imap, pop, exchange? could you attach to the report any of those emails? Thanks.

-> Yes, it is reproducible for all imap and imapx folders.

It happens for me when I add or move messages to other imap folders. However, when others imap clients (either thunderbird, or evolution on another machine) move them then the size is reported OK.

It looks like evolution keeps the wrong size of the message in it's local cache when it moves the message itself.

-> The same occurs for messages with an attachment. The attachment indicator is not shown.

This is particularly annoying when you are searching for that one important message with an attachment which is now shown as 0 size without attachment.

-> The bug exists since Maverick as far as I know, but is still present on Natty.

-> Please raise the importance of this issue.

Another hint and workaround:

Closing evo and deleting the cache under .local/share/evolution/mail/imapx and then restarting evo builds the cache new with sizes/attachment indicators OK.

Warning: don't delete your cache under .../mail/local or you will lose mail saved locally.
