Bug Description

Binary package hint: libreoffice

LibreOffice Base is painfully slow and therefore unusable. I cannot figure out from online sources how to get my program to recognize sun-java-6.21. It will only recognize 6.22 and 6.24, both of which do not work. I thought upgrading to Natty and switching from OpenOffice to LibreOffice would anticipate this leftover bug from 10.10, but it hasn't. Is there some way to make this work now, and if not, when will it be fixed for us non-techie end-of-line users? Thank you for helping me.

Please tell what you do to experience the slowness, and why you are trying to install java.

This also happens with Debian.
I've seen the slowdown happen with java 6.24, 6.25 and 6.26. I ended installing 6.21 to fix the slowdown problem.
I also understand this happens with OpenOffice when using java 6.24, 6.25 and 6.26.
Here is how to duplicate the slowdown problem.
You have to open a openoffice or libreoffice database with a certain number of records.
I have a database with over 900 records and when scrolling from page to page takes at least 12 second or more to go to the next page. This didn't occur with java 6.21.
Some people say 6.22 fixes this problem but some users still have this issue even with 6.22
