Can’t scroll Volume icon in panel to adjust volume

Bug Description

Binary package hint: unity-2d

If you use GNOME Panel or Unity (3D), you can scroll mouse wheel or use touchpad right line with the mouse pointer over the volume icon to adjust volume without popping out Sound Menu. This is impossible in Unity 2D’s panel.
