Bug Description
Binary package hint: xserver-
Hardware: Asus V6J laptop with synaptics touchpad
Problem: There is a button on the laptop to enable and disable the touchpad (not an Fn combo key). This button does not work in a default installation.
Workaround: Add
Option "SHMConfig" "on"
to the InputDevice section for Synaptics Touchpad in xorg.conf
This makes the button work correctly, and works for Dapper, Edgy, and Feisty.
This option should be enabled by default for at least this laptop.
