Bug Description

Binary package hint: xorg

I updated to the latest version of xorg yesterday ( may 18th 2011 ) - xserver-xorg 1:7.6+4ubuntu3.1

Now, opening any qt based application ( or after the interface is open, interacting with it ) crashes xorg, reboots and goes back to the login screen. There have been a few other random occasions where xorg restarted while invoking random programs ( like file manager ).

Do you mean that the crashing started after some upgrades? If so, please attach your /var/log/dpkg.log.

Hi Bryce..

Thank you very much for your attention.

This bug is not reproducible after a reinstallation of ubuntu OS.

I reinstalled ubuntu on my laptop and didn't upgrade to the newer version of XORG ( the previous xorg update rendered my machine almost useless ). I did reinstall Xorg after i received your mail, but I am not able to reproduce this bug. My system seems to run smoothly. All QT applications that i tested - skype and clementine are running fine. The file manager has no problems as well.

I will test the system further, but i feel this bug report can be deleted.

Thank you
