There is a no entry sign showing at the top of the desk to. I can not get updates. It says some packages cannot be opened

Please report this bug for the 'update-manager' package and try to include the following error message:

'E:Encountered a section with no Package: header, E:Problem with MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/gb.archive.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_natty_main_binary-i386_Packages, E:The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.'

I an new to Ubuntu. it worries me seeing the red no entry sign on top of the desk top. I will be more confident if I am able to update my system.

Hi Eyo,

Thank you for reporting this and helping to make Ubuntu better. Can you please do two things:

1.) Take a screenshot where you see the no entry sign. Using Alt+PrintScreen. Attach it to this bug report.
2.) Open a terminal with Ctrl+Alt+T and type 'apport-collect 784812'
