Bug Description
Update manager used to observe system-wide gnome proxy settings...sometime in late Spring 2011 it stopped working.
When the "check for updates" button is clicked, dialog very quickly appears and flashes through all failed downloads.
Proxy I am using is an open, non-authenticating proxy.
