Bug Description

I upgraded from ubuntu 10.10 to 11.04, but the linux kernel 2.6.35 was kept, 2.6.38 was not installed. I discovered in synaptic that the meta-package 'linux-image" is not installed even though "ubuntu-desktop" is installed. Wasn't "ubuntu-desktop" supposed to pull the whole base system? I'm confused...

Thank you for reporting this to Ubuntu. Moving this to update-manager for triage as the kernel should definitely not be part of the desktop package, but perhaps more sanity checks should be made during upgrade.

affects: ubuntu-meta (Ubuntu) → update-manager (Ubuntu)
