Bug Description

Binary package hint: calibre

'utf8' codec can't decode byte 0xb1 in position 9 : invalid start byte.
I got this message when I start to use fetch the news function in calibre.

I've tried to change other preference and reinstall it. But it still doesn't work.
What am I gonna do for getting the news. I've been eager to get that one.

Let me know this very precisely, since I just bought Kindle and don't know anything about this calibre thing. thanks

I'm using calibre version 0.8.1 from this website - http://calibre-ebook.com/download.
Hope it will help solve this problem.

Hi,

Thanks for taking time to report this bug and trying to make Ubuntu better.

Could you please indicate which version of Calibre you are using and where it comes from? You can get that by typing the following command line:
apt-cache policy calibre-bin

Thanks,
Fabrice

Hi,

As you are using the latest version of calibre, I've added the calibre project as affected, so that the author of calibre can see what's happening.

Thanks,
Fabrice
