Interestingly, when I run "melt framebuffer:x.avi?2" I get the same error (and stacktrace). However, if I specify a profile, for instance "melt -profile square_ntsc framebuffer:x.avi?2", the video plays at double speed as expected. I found this out by browsing on the net, but I don't know much about melt internals. Isn't openshot supposed to specify the profile when using framebuffer?

Thanks!

Actually, it turns out that it was a bug in Debian's melt, see http://bugs.debian.org/627133
