They are binary compatible. The reason it broke was because I missed the
gperf build-depends, and it didn't compile everything.

It should have only been broken on x86 as well.

Subject: libid3tag0-dev: bad dependency version set by sh_makeshlibs

Package: libid3tag0-dev
Version: 0.15.1b-2
Severity: serious
Justification: Policy 8.6

Hi,

By trying to rebuild the package, I noticed this line were present in
debian/ryles:
dh_makeshlibs -plibid3tag0 -V "libid3tag0 (>= 0.15.0b)"

This line will make all the packages that are build against this -dev
package to depend on libid3tag (0.15.0b) while in reality they should
depend on 0.15.1b and above, since that's the actual version of the
package.

Cheers,

Wolfgang

Hmm, if I understand you correctly you're claiming that there is no
bug here? Perhaps you should close the bug report then. Or am I missing
something?

This bug being open is, in fact, the only thing keeping the fixed
libid3tag0 package from reaching testing. Closing now, as it appears to
be a bogus report based on the effects of the earlier libid3tag
misbuild.
