Bug Description

Binary package hint: asunder

Hi,

I am using Kubuntu 11.04, asunder version 2.0-1. When I run it as a regular user, I get the following:
user@server:~$ asunder
Segmentation fault

Using dmesg, I get:
[ 480.738147] asunder[2473]: segfault at 8c ip 00000000004133eb sp 00007fff07e8a410 error 4 in asunder[400000+1d000]

There is no debug option for asunder for me to give more details.

If I put sudo before that, it runs perfectly.

Let me know if you need more trace and how I can get it.

I am on a 64bit architecture:
uname -a:
Linux server 2.6.38-8-generic #42-Ubuntu SMP Mon Apr 11 03:31:24 UTC 2011 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Regards.

I compiled from source and installed the package using checkinstall and the problem is gone.

I've looked around and a report on the opensSUSE forum suggests it's a problem with the QTcurve gtk theme. This makes sense as running the app as root will use another theme and so bypass the error causing issue

Yes, I have seen the post you mention. I tried to change themes, and the behaviour did not change. What I can not answer is why it works if I compile the code myself.

Can't reproduce the problem. Suspect it was an issue with Gtk libraries. Closing.
Please reopen if anyone can still reproduce with 2.9.7
