Bug Description
Binary package hint: nautilus
While the Unity bar is meant to hold running applications that double as launchers, the extended menu functionality to create new instances isn't in place. When I want to start cruising around my filesystem with Nautilus, I usually just start with the home folder and go from there in a new window.
Of course, when I already have a window open, all the Unity launcher does is bring it to the foreground.
What I'd like to see is a default action that's performed when a Unity menu item is double clicked and for Nautilus to support this with a "open a new window" action.
This is both a Unity and Nautilus issue. On one end, Unity doesn't have a double-click action that can be assigned defaults. And on the other, Nautilus doesn't even have a right-click menu option to create a new window in the Unity menu bar.
