USB serial cable: unable to enumerate

Bug Description

On natty, when I connect my monoprice USB-to-serial cable to my laptop, I receive the following errors in dmesg:

This cable has a Prolific 2303 and is supposed to work under Linux.

I will try to test the cable on other machines to rule out the possibility that the cable is bad.

Here's a usbmon log that captures the USB traffic when I plug in the cable.

Just as an FYI, I have the same problems when running the ubuntu-oneiric git tree.

This appears to be a problem with the cable itself. Sorry for the noise. Marking this bug as invalid.
