Bug Description

After upgrade to 11.04 nvidia proprietary drivers don't work. As a result - compiz doesn't, and applications depending on it, like unity, docky, etc.). I tried nvidia-current and nvidia-glx-173. I've got NVidia GT 230.

Tried:
sudo apt-get purge nvidia-current
sudo apt-get install nvidia-current
sudo nvidia-xconfig
shutdown -r now

also graphical "System -> Administration -> Additional Drivers"

Additional drivers says that "This driver is activated, but not currently in use".

I wish I could downgrade to 10.10 :(

yea i wish i could downgrade also, this is such a fail, all of the ubuntu devs must have ati or never tested nvidia prior to release.

The problem causeing this is a version-difference of a dependency-package of nvidia-current.
