Bug Description

Binary package hint: xorg

Can't seem to find any pattern. Display randomly crashes and restarts with login screen. I have found that it seems to crash less often with the 2.6.35 kernel and so far it hasn't crashed at all if I use Ubuntu-classic session with the 2.6.35 kernel. Using 2.6.38 kernel it crashes whether I use Unity or Ubuntu-Classic, but Unity seems to crash more quickly.

For backtrace, check the duplicate bug #783738

Seems to happen also when using Ubuntu Classic (i.e. Gnome-Panel interface) as well, though less frequently. See also duplicate bug 783738.

I'm having the same problem with Ubuntu Classic but only since a fresh install of Natty. I've added a log to possible duplicate bug 784936
