pfaedit: doesn't actually exist

Bug Description

There's now a pfaedit 'transition package' which is aimed to transition people
over to fontforge, but the problem is that fontforge doesn't actually provide a
pfaedit binary, which causes FTBFSes on t1-cyrillic, at least.

Wouldn't it be better to just transition t1-cyrillic to fontforge?

as discussed, pfaedit and fontforge are actually the same program, so the
transition should be trivial

Seb, any complaints with adding a pfaedit that just execs fontforge? Else, the
pfaedit package really shouldn't be provided.

no, no complaint

Fixed in 0.0.20040618-1ubuntu2 (a small dummy pfaedit binary is provided).

I'll take a card for lying. When a script like:
#!/bin/sh
exec fontforge "$@"

is called, it spits out 'FontForge used to be called PfaEdit', and ungracefully
exits. I'll reopen this bug and ramp it down to normal, I suspect; it's not in
the warty timeframe.

Huh? A script like that works perfectly for me.

This bug can only be downgraded if you've transitioned t1-cyrillic to
s/pfaedit/fontforge/, and it doesn't look like you have

Warty bug, but only affects universe packages; downgrading per mdz.

  * Provide pfaedit as a link to fontforge (closes: Ubuntu#1057).
