Bug Description

Binary package hint: nautilus

I recently upgraded from 10.10 Maverick to 11.04. Now the system restarts fine, but after logon, all I get is a full screen purple / violet window (same background that I used to get for 10.10), but this time with no icons nothing. I am actually handicapped. I can access file explorer only when I insert a USB drive and the explorer pop up. I can use internet as luckily I had configured previously so that the net is connected automatically. But I am unable to access terminal neither any other application on my netbook. Totally handicapped! I have a bootable USB, but each time I use it (I tried making diff isos on diff pen drives), it says Boot error. Pllssss help! I am unable to find my ext CD drive, else I could hv reinstalled Windows and thru Win isntalled Ubuntu back using the exe file on the iso
