Bug Description

Stars without any error message in terminal, but systray shows only static icon of error.

Although systray shows static error message, icon answers mouse keys and shoes dialog of preferences and etc.

I'm using version 0.1 on fully updated ubuntu 11.04.

Hmm, that is interesting. Never tried this, what desktop environment are you using?

I'm using a bit customized Gnome without gnome panels.

More details about stalonetray:
http://stalonetray.sourceforge.net/

I manage retrieve this error message which actually pops out in terminal from stalonetray, when indicator-multiloud is quiting. I'm not an expert and actually now unsure if this means that bug resides in stalonetray or indicator-multiload.

I could reproduce it on a standard Gnome system by just removing the indicator-applet-* parts from the Gnome panel.

Seems like the systray fallback code of libappindicator is not able to find the icon.

Note to self: libappindicator uses a GtkStatusIcon which does not look in the custom path set with app_indicator_set_icon_theme_path. Seems like we have to add a full icon_theme somewhere for this...

Ok, one ugly hack later there is a beta version in ppa:indicator-multiload/daily :-). Could you check whether it works for you?

FYI: There is now a height setting to change the icon height (only accessible in dconf - dconf-editor: apps/indicators/multiload).
