Bug Description

Hi,

I've upgraded from edgy to feisty and now my integrated card reader stops working.
In edgy I could plug in a SD card and it opened a window with the content - now not even
dmesg shows that something was plugged in. The only dmesg info I get is that the
wbsd driver is loaded.

Kernel: linux-image-2.6.20-3-generic

Bye

Thanks for your bug report. Could you please add the output of 'lspci -vvn' and 'dmesg' after card insertion to it?

I can confirm this bug. I'm seeing the same thing on a HP Pavillion ZT3000. The SD reader worked in Edgy.

The relevant part of dmesg on boot is:

[ 35.568000] wbsd: Winbond W83L51xD SD/MMC card interface driver, 1.6
[ 35.568000] wbsd: Copyright(c) Pierre Ossman
[ 35.572000] pnp: Device 00:02 activated.
[ 35.576000] mmc0: W83L51xD id 7112 at 0x248 irq 6 dma 2 PnP

The only other output I get from dmesg is when I remove the card again, I get:

[ 416.132000] mmc0: Card removed during transfer!
[ 416.132000] mmc0: Resetting chip
[ 416.132000] mmc0: Incomplete DMA transfer. 64 bytes left.

Lionel, they're two different SD card readers using different kernel modules...unless it's a udev problem, that doesn't make a lot of sense...
