Bug Description

"The program can't start because libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem." I think the file is missing from the donwload folder win32diskimager-RELEASE-0.3-r27-binary.zip .
Thank you.

Good catch, thanks. I have uploaded a new zip that adds the missing dll. Program ran fine here, but I ran it on my VM development image that has mingw\bin in the path. Oops.

Changed in win32-image-writer:
status: New → Fix Released
importance: Undecided → High
milestone: none → 0.3
assignee: nobody → Tobin Davis (gruemaster)

The win32diskimager-RELEASE-0.3-r27-binary.zip that I've just downloaded doesn't have that DLL. Does it take time for an upload to become available?

Thanks,
Randy

Seems there have been a lot of changes in what dll's are needed. I rebuilt the zip file with what I found missing, and tested it on a completely different system. Please try it now, and let me know if there are still missing files.

I had worked around it by downloading mingw, but I've just checked the win32diskimager-RELEASE-0.3-r27-binary.zip download and the DLL is now present. Thanks for the fix!

I am getting this same message

"The program can't start because libgcc_s_dw2-1.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."

I have tried R27 and the older versions and get the same result. I am a noob so forgive me if I miss something obvious. I am using 7-Zip to open the program and then I open the .exe file. When I look in the files there does appear to be a DLL by that name in there. Not sure where to go from here.

Any help would be appreciated.

Have you extracted the files from the zip to a directory, or are you just running the .exe from within 7-zip? If you're double-clicking on the .exe from within 7-zip, then it won't extract the DLL file from the archive, and it won't find it. Make sure you extract everything into a directory, then run the .exe from that directory.
