[Wishlist] Please, merge unity-scope-calculator

In KDE you have this very cool shorthand for doing quick calculations without opening a specific calculator. It is triggered by pressing <alt +f2>= then you can type in some simple calculation eg. 1+2 the result is then displayed below. When you press <enter> the result is copied into the input line, from where you can copy it or use it in more calculations. This is something I'm missing while moving from KDE to Unity.

As a workaround I configured the keyboard shortcut CTRL+ALT+C to open the calculator app.

I think it cannot be installed in Unity 5.0

I believe this feature has been declined by the Design team during the previous cycle, maybe it could be looked at again?

The latest version can be found in the scopes-packagers PPA [1], Precise source, packages: unity-lens-utilities & unity-scope-calculator.

Disregard the previous comment, I've just noticed the branch linked to the bug, that implements it directly in the Apps lens.

unity-scope-calculator is now available in 13.10. It can be invoked from Dash home by typing e.g. "calculator:2+2", or typing the expression and then selecting "Calculator" from filters in Home.
