Bug Description
Binary package hint: unity-place-files
It should be possible to retrieve any file/folder from the user's home folder from the Unity file lens. Currently, it happens too frequently that the File lens does not retrieve a folder I know is there.
The Applications lens finds all applications on the system, and even these not on the system, available for download). In the same realm, the File lens should find all files in the user's home directory. Typing part of the name of a file/folder that is on the system, should retrieve the file/folder.
Currently, the file lens cannot be used reliable. One is never sure if a needed file/folder will be retrieved or not if it has not been very recently used. As a matter of fact, as per bug 749566, folders are not retrieved anyway.
Super + a, "Update" is guaranteed to retrieve Update Manager. I would like the same reliability from the file lens in retrieving my files.
