Bug Description

I built a new computer over the holidays with an AMD Athlon 64 processor. After installing Kubuntu Edgy (6.10) on the machine I downloaded and installed the new Alpha version of Easy Ebuntu (date: 1/1/07). I first downloaded the file to my desktop, then opened up a terminal and entered:
  wget -q http://medibuntu.sos-sts.com/repo/medibuntu-key.gpg -O- | sudo apt-key add -

I then extracted the files to a directory named "easyubuntu_latest". The program did not show up in my KMenu list, so I migrated into the directory, found the bin folder but the file was empty and would not start. I migrated into the directory containing the Perl scripts and selected the the start script using Konqueror. When I clicked on the Perl script (I am not at that machine at the moment, so I can't tell you the name of it) to start the Easy Ubuntu GUI, it popped up a window asking for my password. I entered the password and hit Enter (also tried the ok button) and nothing happened. I noticed that in my Kmenu list that I could see a flash of the EasyUbuntu graphic when my mouse went between the Settings and System Folders. After seeing this I thought it might need some Gnome stuff, so I downloaded and installed Gnome. After logging in with Gnome, rather than KDE, I migrated over to the start Perl script, when the password dialog came up, I entered my password and then Easy Ubuntu started and worked fine.

Your site says that the Alpha version works with Ubuntu or Kubuntu. I had used an earlier version of EasyUbuntu with Dapper (different computer) about six months ago and had no problems without Gnome installed. I am an experienced Linux user, but I found your installation instructions confusing. If it was spelled out a little better, even from a command line like earlier versions, I may not have had this problem.
