Bug Description

Binary package hint: gpointing-device-settings

I just upgraded to Natty 3 days ago. I have recently begun using the multitouch settings, particularly horizontal and vertical scrolling through two-finger touch. When I started doing this, all the scroll settings became fragile. Every few minutes scrolling ceases to work altogether and I have to open gpointing-device-settings, where I find all the scrolling options still selected ("Enable Vertical Scrolling", "Enable Circular Scrolling", "Enable vertical scrolling when dragging with two fingers", and "Enable horizontal . . . fingers"). Yet none of them work. So I uncheck and check all of them and scrolling works again for a while.

To be perfectly clear, this is different from the bug I and many others have previously reported (which is still a problem) that the circular scrolling setting is lost between sessions--in this case, the problem is within the same session.

This package has been removed from the Ubuntu development release, so I am closing all remaining open bug reports.

Sorry that we couldn't fix your problem properly, but gpointing-device-settings is dead upstream, buggy and completely unmaintained.

Thank you for your understanding and please continue to report any bugs you may find.
