Hi fabio, thanks for your bug report. It seems strange that Software Center would give you this message if in fact you are connected to the network. With a bit more information we should be able to determine what the problem is that you are experiencing. Please open a terminal window and run software-center directly from there as shown:

  $ software-center

(note, *no* sudo). Then, please do whatever actions you were doing that caused you to see this message, and then please paste the output of the above command here.

Thanks!

Hi Fabio, thanks for your further test and reporting your result. Based on the traceback you posted, I can see that this is a duplicate of an earlier bug 625137, so I will set it as such. Please look at bug 625137 to see if there is any missing information that you can provide, or to see if there is a workaround for the bug. Additionally, any further discussion regarding the bug should occur in the other report. Please continue to report any other bugs you may find.

I'll set that bug as confirmed as well and set priority accordingly.

By the way, I see that this bug was reported with Software Center version 4.0. If you have not done so yet, could you please update your 11.04 system using Update Manager? If by chance the problem no longer occurs after your update, please let us know as well.

Thank you again for your help, it's much appreciated!
