Bug Description

Binary package hint: gimp

Hi,

I've just installed Natty 64 bit as a fresh install and can't start Gimp. I installed Kubuntu-desktop and am using KDE as my default session type.

Running gimp through gdb I get the following message (before running any backtrace or anything):

Starting program: /usr/bin/gimp
[Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled]

(gimp:2799): GLib-WARNING **: /build/buildd/glib2.0-2.28.6/./glib/goption.c:2132: ignoring no-arg, optional-arg or filename flags (8) on option of type 0

Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

I have attached the full backtrace.

If there is any more information required please let me know.

Cheers!

I worked around the problem by changing the GTK_ Appearance - Widget style to Raleigh instead of the preselected oxygen-gtk.

The same happen to me. Changing to Raleigh or QtCurve (installed manually) solve the problem.

I can confirm this on a fresh 32 bit natty install. The GTK workaround didn't work for me but I found a different workaround:

# mkdir ~/.gimp-2.6
# gimp

voila

I confirm the same problem running Ubuntu 11.04 32bit on a virtual machine (VirtualBox), using Kubuntu. The workaround reported by Frido did solved the issue.
