Bug Description

Clean Install of Edgy 6.10, edited apt and tried to install mythtv,
received failure on mythtv backend connecting to /var/run/mysqld/mysqld.sock
I tried the following, and reset my apt configuration and tried to reinstall just mysql-common and mysql-client and tried again:
ps -e | grep ql
reports nothing. ps ax also shows no running mysql service.
check /etc/init.d and I expected to see some sort of mysql* script, but there was nothing.
files do exists in usr/bin and one file in usr/sbin.
---
At this point my plan is see if someone can report a known issue / fix.
If not, I will do a clean install of Edgy again, install mysql before attempting to install myth to see if it works with a clean system. I realize universe / multiverse software is not supported.

I think the unsupported package mythtv does not have a dependency for mysql-server
since, I was able to manually install mysql with
sudo apt-get install mysql-server
