after upgrade problems with display, some disappear when compiz turned off

Right after I upgraded to natty on 28th April I started experiencing strange problems with display. There are no top bars of windows with close, minimize,maximize buttons and gnome terminal became invisible (it was there, but it was not displayed; I could type commands there and they were properly executed, e.g. I could make a mercurial commit and push, though haven't seen what I typed). I have turned off compiz effects, including opengl support and this made my terminal visible. The problem with toolbars remains. I don't which package I should name in the report, so I used compiz.

There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. It would help us a lot if you could test it on a currently supported Ubuntu version. When you test it and it is still an issue, kindly upload the updated logs by running apport-collect <bug #> and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.
