Bug Description

Binary package hint: lirc

Upgraded from 10.04 to 11.04 and can't make my Hauppauge HVR-3000 remote work.

mode2: initializing '/dev/input/eventX'
This program does not work for this hardware yet

after lircd -H dev/input -d /dev/input/eventX
irrecord and irw can't get any input

That mode2 doesn't work for /dev/input devices is as expected. The manpage describes that it displays timing data, but there is no such data available on /dev/input/* which already are decoded.

Furthermore, in the new version 0.9.4c mode2 actually supports displaying data from the event device. Can you please check again using the 0.9.4c version? (Note that the update requires major configuration changes)
