Bug Description

I'm running Xubuntu 6.06 LTS and Xubuntu 6.10 on my K8-AMD64.
Eclipse crashes irregular. I can't specify an exact time when eclipse crashes.
I tried different JVM vendors (Sun, Blackdown, IBM), versions (1.4, 1.5), Eclipse (3.1,3.2) and always have the same probleme. I don't use the gcj Eclipse package. I use a downloaded version from eclipse.org.

We don't really track bugs for packages that don't come from Ubuntu sources. Could you please try with the Ubuntu version of Eclipse and see if it's still a problem? Thanks

I tried the Ubuntu Eclipse version a while ago. There was the problem that the CVS did't work with extssh. So i had to switch to an downloaded eclipse from eclipse.org.
The reason why i thought this is a ubuntu bug is because it happens with different JVM (including the Ubuntu packages). Eclipse exits with an JVM error.
A friend of mine is running Ubuntu LTS 6.06 on a 32 bit machine and has no problems with an eclipse from eclipse.org.

If it would be a Eclipse or JVM problem would that happen with different JVM's, Eclipse versions?

It's may a GTK Problem. Look at the attached dump file

I am continuously experincing jvm crash while using eclipse. This make the work really annoying.

I have tried different flavors: jvm 5 and 6, installed from apt-get or manually. Eclipse 3.2.2 from apt-get and 3.3.1.1 from tar.gz
I have also cleaned my system up, removing services and setting compiz fusion effect to minimum to improve overall stability.

Right now eclipse do not start, crashing during startup with the same error I always receive. I attach a sample log. I have to reboot to fix. I have already posted the bug to http://java.sun.com/webapps/bugreport/crash.jsp as said in the jvm crash log, hope they wil llisten.
