While using one of
Filezilla

Bluefish

Then opening one of the others gives a blank screen

eg. If Filezilla is open and I try to edit a file in Bluefish then Bluefish has a blank(white) screen under it's menu. Same if I try to open Thunderbird.

This also happens with other Applications as well.

Not sure if this is relevant but ...

When I clicked Monitors in the Hardware section of the Control Panel I would get a message telling me another driver was handling it. But now it does not. Further investigation showed my nvedia was installed but not being used.

I noticed it for "control center" and "evolution" too.

"Chromium" is affected, too.

I have got a Nvidia Graphic Card (Quadro NVS 285), using NVIDIA Driver 270.41.06, if that helps.

It may be related to #747717.

Downgrading to Nvidia Driver 173 (instead of 270) solved the problem. This definitely is a duplicate of #747717, even if I don't know if that must be corrected in Nvidia drivers, or in Compiz.

This has been ongoing for me for all windows. Resizing them sometimes fixes for awhile. This seems to be related to the Nvidia driver problem. Is anyone actually working on this?
