Bug Description

Binary package hint: blogtk

Hi guys!

As stated in Bug #538773 blogtk is not working without python-gtkhtml2 which has been dropped in Natty. I tried installing libgtkhtml2 and python-gtkhtml2 from lenny (Debian GNU/Linux) but the latter depends on python2.5 which also has been dropped...

Please remove this package from >= 11.04 until it works with the available libraries and fix the dependencies for the other releases (i.e. builds < 11.04). Just removing the dependencies from Debian/rules is annoying for the end-user and won't make the package work anyway.

blogtk doeos not depend on python-gtkhtml2, so I wonder how it ever worked in the first place? Just by accident because python-gtkhtml2 was already installed?

Thank you for changing the summary!

Well, having a look at bug #653346 and others I assume it hasn't been working for several releases. As the launchpad autobuilder only compiles your packages but won't execute any code, you would probably never notice such missing dependencies for python. Therefore you need to have proper testing routines in a clean environment...

Please, consider reopening bug #538773, as "BloGTK Fix Released" IMHO is more than misleading.
