Bug Description

Ive had the google-talkplugin on 10.10 and everything worked fine.

Now it doesn't work when I did a clean install to 11.04 ....

I have a Logitech QuickCam that I am using as the microphone. The conversation works for about a minute before the other caller cannot hear me anymore.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and trying to help make Ubuntu better. However, since googletalk-plugin is not a software package provided by the official Ubuntu repositories, the Ubuntu project can not support or fix your particular bug. Thus, I need to mark this bug as invalid.

However, one thing I can recommend is for you to try recording sound for a bit using the sound recorder application in ubuntu, or if possible, trying to use skype to determine whether it is a generic problem with sound recording on your system, and whether it happens all the time (even with plain sound recorder) or while having simultaneous network access (as would be the case with skype).

If you see this happening regardless of which application you're using, I'd advise you to file a bug on that application. Just a comment, since Skype is also provided by a non-Ubuntu repository, you should not file a bug about Skype as it will be marked invalid too.

As a personal comment, I also use googletalk-plugin on Ubuntu 11.04 and have experienced no problems, so it's probably not a google talk- exclusive problem.

Additionally, you could report this bug to the provider of the software package (googletalk-plugin).

If you are interested in learning more about software repositories and Ubuntu the following pages should be informative:

1. http://www.ubuntu.com/project/about-ubuntu/components - information about Ubuntu repositories
2. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Repositories - information regarding managing repositories

Thanks!
