Bug Description

Hello. After upgrading to Natty, 3d acceleration doesn't work anymore. The "Additional drivers" list is empty, but it was empty on 10.10, too, but 3d acceleration was working. When I try glxinfo, i get:

name of display: :0.0
X Error of failed request: BadRequest (invalid request code or no such operation)
Major opcode of failed request: 136 (GLX)
Minor opcode of failed request: 19 (X_GLXQueryServerString)
Serial number of failed request: 15
Current serial number in output stream: 15

My video card is:

01:05.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RS690 [Radeon X1200 Series]

Compiz, Unity, Emerald... none of these work, but it's not for these "nice effects", I would just like my 3d acceleration to come back! Thank you!

ginosal, this bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please test for this with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ .

If it remains an issue, could you please run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications->Accessories->Terminal), as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report:

apport-collect -p xserver-xorg-video-ati REPLACE-WITH-BUG-NUMBER

Please note, given that the information from the prior release is already available, doing this on a release prior to the development one would not be helpful.

Thank you for your understanding.
