Unity offers no means of determining stickykey state

Bug Description

Following an upgrade to Natty, I can no longer determine what state my stickykeys are in.

Previously this information was provided by the gnome-panel-applet called "AccessX Status" which displayed a row of icons which would show either latched or locked for each modifier key.

While stickykeys seems to work in that keys are latched/locked as one would expect, but Unity appears to have no such indicator mechanism, which renders the feature somewhat less useful.

This is a critical bug for those of us who rely on stickykeys.

Yes, I'm aware there is a workaround by using Gnome 2.x, Classic or whatever it's called, but that's not made clear to the noob-level user.

The extremely impressive amount of effort put into other aspects of a11y makes this a surprising ball-dropping to discover. While I'm aware that I'm hardly a statistically valid sample, I know of more users who need stickykeys than most other a11y features combined.
