Bug Description

This issue occurs on a ACER Aspire 5201 laptop, having an Atheros onboard wireless card. It didn't occur in Ubuntu Dapper

Network Settings > Wireless Connection > Properties > ESSID :: The dropdown list is always empty.

Instead, it allows me to type manually the ESSID, in the textbox on top of the dropdown list. So, it is possible to connect to the wireless network, using the 'iwlist scan' command and then typing the SSID in the textbox mentioned.

This issue has been confirmed during development at http://www.ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=259366
