Bug Description
Lots of file extensions (.txt or .txt~ etc.) and lots of file names (spaces and special characters, Latin characters, etc.)
From Pivotal: Per your point below, I think it is ok to do the simplest possible thing.

I tested with all reasonable filenames I could figure, and fixed the code to work with them.
This includes filenames:
- containing special characters (space, ~, etc...)
- containing unicode characters in latin1 and latin2 charsets
- with a "strange" extension
- without an extension
If anything else comes up please reopen this ticket (or submit a new one).
