Bug Description

Lots of file extensions (.txt or .txt~ etc.) and lots of file names (spaces and special characters, Latin characters, etc.)

From Pivotal: Per your point below, I think it is ok to do the simplest possible thing.

 - the file extension problem (maybe, just rip out the part causing the issue is good enough, since the trouble is with a regexp that is used for filtering file types, but we don't need that now)
 - tests (very little on the client, and more on the server)

I tested with all reasonable filenames I could figure, and fixed the code to work with them.

This includes filenames:

- containing special characters (space, ~, etc...)
- containing unicode characters in latin1 and latin2 charsets
- with a "strange" extension
- without an extension

If anything else comes up please reopen this ticket (or submit a new one).
