Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

I upgraded to ubuntu natty beta yesterday ( 27th April). (The upgrade aborted near the end becaus of VirtualBox package, so I restarted the computer by myself.) on login to unity or gnome I noticed the screen freezes so I guessed it may be compiz. I replaced compiz with metacity and gnome works as usually. unity needed compiz, so unity didn't work - no panels, just icons. the freeze occurs every time I start compiz. if I start compiz with --indirect-rendering, compiz works fine and still 3d accelerated which I can't understand. I use the nvidia current version driver for my graphic card. If I disable the opengl and composite plugins via ccsm, compiz runs OK, without 3D effects of course.
