[regression?] No way to enable desktop effects in classic session

Bug Description
Binary package hint: gnome-control-
Since Unity with Ubuntu 11.04, there's no way to enable desktop effects w/o Unity. The tab in gnome-appearanc
A workaround is adding "compiz --replace" as a startup application, but it would be nice if we had an easier and more consistent option again.

As a workaround, try the following:
sudo apt-get install compizconfig- settings- manager
It worked for me. Though I do agree that it would be nice if this was a bit more obvious.
