Thank you for your bug. The crash happens to libswfdec, reassigning the bug to swfdec0.3. Do you have an example of .swf triggering the bug that you could attach to the page?

Totem crash on preview attached file. Firefox downloaded it on .mozilla/xxxxx.default/Cache

Apport tell me "totem-video-thumbnailer crashed with SIGSEGV in g_list_first()"

Upstream swfdec did a look at the reason of the crash and found out that it was ffmpeg related.

So, closing the swfdec part, opening ffmpeg one

I tested your file here in Firefox 2.0.0.6, VLC media player, Adobe SWF standalone player, SMPlayer and Gnome Mplayer. Work perfect.

Totem can not play file - it give the "start streaming" message and ..that's all.

Totem certainly uses gst-ffmpeg plugins, which has this bug.
Mplayer uses its own ffmpeg, which should have a different version

Problem with ffmpeg beeing the "version" doesn't really exist. Every project got his own prefered snapshot

Upstream swfdec devs told me that ffmpeg was crashing because of bad data that swfdec sent to it
