Bug Description

Binary package hint: gdm

I go to login screen settings and disable sounds (I have disabled sounds for Ubuntu in general), but sometimes it wont remember, and I hear these drum sounds upon logon screen showing. That is really annoying.
Where does that come from?

this is still there on release and it's extremely annoying, also the previous means through the conf in gdm folder seems to be broken and the drums play each start-up no matter what options are changed. This is highly unacceptable when you are in a public place and have a crowd enjoy your drums.

There is a separate place to configure the sounds for the login manager (gdm), and it is affected by a bug where you have to check and uncheck the box once to make it stick.
