Bug Description

Binary package hint: banshee

When I click on the Amazon MP3 store in Banshee in Natty beta 2, it goes to the U.S. store instead of the U.K. store (I'm in the U.K.). Banshee in Maverick works perfectly and goes to the U.K. store (as confirmed as fix released in bug 706337). The automatic country detection (Geo IP) is not working in natty beta 2 but is working in maverick.

Please let me know if any further information is required.

Thanks

Please go to the following two adresses in your browser, and see if they redirect you to the right Amazon store :

http://integrated-services.banshee.fm/amz/redirect.do/geo/home

https://one.ubuntu.com/music/store/amz/geo/home

The first is the original one used by Banshee upstream, the second is the one set up for Ubuntu, which was put in place recently.

The first address works correctly and sends me to amazon.co.uk. The second address sends me to amazon.com (U.S.) which is wrong, in my case.

Well, it's clear that it's not a Banshee bug then, but an issue with the UbuntuOne redirector. For the lack of any better package, I'm just going to point this bug at libubuntuone.

Please include your IP address in the bug report so that we can further debug this issue.

Does it work correctly if you choose UK as the store in the Banshee preferences for the Amazon store?

OK, I found the problem. And setting the preference explicitly to UK does work.

Setting the preference explicitly to UK also works for me.

This fix appears to be deployed now, so using the speicifc setting, or automatic resolution, should work correctly again. Sorry for the problem.

Confirmed. The automatic (Geo IP) detection is now working for me. Thanks for fixing this.
