When I click on the "next song" button in the sound menu it's get synchronized again. I don't know how to reproduce this bug yet.

I reckon there may be some race condition happening, or perhaps a signal being missed out.

Yeah, the upstream bug was a duplicate filed by me. I just amended the upstream
URL to point at the master bug.

Yeah guys, I have noticed on certain occasions over this cycle. I have put a timeout to help the race condition. It seems as if when I receive the property-changed signal and then I try to fetch the metadata it seems as if the metadata property is the old metadata and not the new stuff.

Also see bug 771249 (I marked that bug as a duplicate of this one). This issue seems to be related to gapless playback. If you disable the gapless playback option in Banshee the bug ceases to occur.

I don't necessarily agree that bug 771249 is a duplicate of this. 771249 was a FFE request with a much broader scope; it was influenced by this bug, but also by several other (more severe, imo) bugs related to track changes with gapless. But anyway, that makes little difference at this point since the request was too late for Natty. Hopefully this will all become irrelevant in the next cycle anyway, as the current plan is to completely re-work Banshee's gapless implementation. See upstream for more details: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=638943
