I didn't realise that discover-data wasn't actually installed per default.
Instead (obviously) discover1-data, which has a totally desynced device list, is
installed per default. Fixed in new discover1-data:

daniels@nanasawa:/mnt/daniels/canonical/discover/discover1-data-1.2004.07.28%
head -n 6 debian/changelog
discover1-data (1.2004.07.28-0ubuntu1) warty; urgency=low

  * Add default entries for ATI, Intel (i8xx), and NVIDIA; this capability is
only useful with the relevant version of discover1. (Closes: Warty#926)

Remind me; why are we shipping both discover1 and discover2 ?

We are shipping discover1 because d-i requires it. We are shipping discover
because someone added it to the SupportedSeed. I am more than happy to remove
it if it is not needed. Taking this to the list...

Dude, it helps if you patch the Ubuntu version of discover1-data which is rather
newer than the version you patched.

Looks like someone was using an outdated local mirror to avoid downloading

If you looked at discover1's source, you'd understand why discover2 came about.

I don't think anyone uses discover2 anywhere; the reason discover2 is not used
in d-i, is because joeyh couldn't make a udeb of it (something to do with the
XML parser required, maybe?). Anyway, the biggest problem with it is that the
discover1 and discover2 data lists are horrifically adrift, and both
discover1-data and discover-data generate the *.lst files needed for discover1,
which is why I mistakenly uploaded discover-data in the first place. Three
places to change things! Oh joy!

I think we should probably axe discover and discover-data from supported.

I'll re-upload today with the Ubuntu version plus defaults. I suck.
