After suspend/resume the graphics of the unity bar is completely distorted

When waking up from suspend or hibernate, the unity starter bar on the left is just a "pixel mess" - mostly white with lots of colored dots in it... moving the mouse over it for the first time, it is restored immediately upon mouse over!
